Occurrence, Treatment, and Evaluation of Analytical Methods for Waterborne Adenoviruses: Phase I

Project Update

The overall objective of this project was to develop, improve, and apply sensitive and robust analytical methods to characterize the occurrence of enteric (group F) human adenoviruses (ads) in water. In Phase I (Project 3177), quantitative real-time PCR assays were developed to detect Group F ads in water. Stable cell lines have been developed in the laboratories of the PI and co-PI that express viral transactivating proteins for more sensitive cell culture detection of infectious ads.
