Moving Water Innovation into Practice

Innovation at WRF

Our Innovation Program is a multi-pronged initiative to help bring new water technology to the field quickly and efficiently. The program provides a seamless pipeline for research outcomes to culminate in the implementation of innovative processes and technologies.

A digital collaboration platform designed to accelerate the uptake and deployment of innovation into the water sector.

Technology Scans

Technology Scans are designed to move innovation into practice and have engaged more than 1,200 organizations representing municipal and industrial facility owners, consulting firms, regulators, and venture capitalists.

A tool that identifies trends around the deployment of innovative technologies across the water sector.

FAST Water Network

A program that assists those developing and piloting technologies for the water sector.

A collaborative scholarship program for utility personnel to visit and share experiences with innovations of interest.

IWS Challenge

A competition to demonstrate the value of intelligent water systems (IWS) to utilities and foster adoption of smart water technologies.

Pilot Project Program

Our pilot project program allows utility subscribers and technology providers to share the costs and risks involved with exploring new technologies

Program Highlight

$30,000 is given annually through the LIFT SEE IT to support utility personnel as they see and experience innovation around the globe. The scholarship program, jointly spearheaded by WRF, WEF, and NACWA, offsets travel costs in the interest of sharing innovative experiences with their water peers. Members of the three organizations are eligible to see technical, process, financial, and operational innovations.
