The implementation of advanced asset management technologies is an effective means to properly manage infrastructure investments to achieve higher system reliability and lower costs. As technologies emerge for the water sector, application issues, cost-benefits, reliability, maintenance, durability, and performance need to be continually evaluated to develop fit-for-purpose solutions and minimize application risks.
This project's objectives are as follows:
- Review the range of technologies in use by various industries and regions for condition-based assessment, data information management and predictive maintenance formulation strategies
- Assess the applicability of these technologies specifically to water industry infrastructure needs in the United States and Canada
- Summarize findings in an organized report that includes a searchable database or decision matrix for technology assessment methodology with deterministic solution or business case approach algorithms suitable for the water industry.
