Abstract

The overall objectives for this project were to (1) develop tools to support Prevention through Design (PtD) initiatives by demonstrating value to organizations, and (2) identify barriers to PtD processes and implementation strategies to overcome them. In addition to the final report, the project developed four spreadsheet tools, or models, to measure benefits and costs of PtD in water utilities, incorporating not only financial data but also labor hours and risk profiles. These prototype models are available on this project page under Project Resources/Web Tools. Published in 2014.
