Abstract

Studies the reaction of triclosan, a commonly used anti-microbial agent in personal care products, with free chlorine and monochloramine. Characterizes the kinetics, mechanism, and products of interactions, evaluates the influence of water quality on the reaction rates, and develops mechanistic models that describe the reactions occurring.
