Abstract

The goal of this project was to evaluate the performance of first generation self-healing composite membranes under a wide range of realistic conditions, and further optimize the self-healing membrane for faster technology transfer to industry. Building upon this research, the team will further optimize the self-healing property of the composite membranes for applications in practical reuse scenarios by varying synthetic conditions such as hydrogel monomer concentration, the ratio of cross-linker and the pore size of the support layer.
