Abstract

Documents the use and performance of elastomeric gasket materials, predicts the life expectancy of elastomeric gaskets when used in drinking water distribution systems, and determines the impacts of chlorine and chloramines on long-term elastomeric gasket performance. Also identifies gasket materials resistant to degradation and recommends further research and development for improved gasket materials. Research partner: USEPA. Published in 2007.
