Performance and Life Span of Polyethylene Wrap Materials for Ductile Iron Pipe
Abstract
This project evaluated and predicted the long-term performance and life expectancy of PE wrap material used to protect DI pipe from external corrosion. The research resulted in performance evaluation and accelerated material life testing methods for PE wrap materials. The final report provides a sound basis for asset management decisions and future rehabilitation program spending levels. A literature review is also posted below under Project Resources/Project Papers. Note related research in project 3036, Long Term Performance of Ductile-Iron Pipe. Research partner: CSIRO.
