Abstract

This research provided an evaluation of the capabilities and limitations of Lagrangian models for use in prediction of UV process performance. It developed an experiment-based method for measurement of dose distribution and an improved method of reactor validation and characterization. It demonstrated that he combined application of three methods of reactor characterization (biodosimetry, numerical simulation, and dyed-microspheres) represents an ideal method of UV reactor characterization and should be encouraged among new reactor validation and testing approaches.
