Abstract

Identifies and quantifies the heterotrophic bacteria that colonize chloraminated drinking water distribution systems. Determines whether bench- and pilot-scale chloraminated systems are adequate models to study the type of bacteria that colonize full-scale systems. Also formulates mechanisms and hypotheses for the role of these bacteria as the critical microbial group in nitrification of chloraminated distribution systems. Published in 2008.
