Gresham, Oregon Case Study: Measuring Progress Towards a Sustainable Asset Management Program

As a subscriber to WERF, the City of Gresham, OR, sought assistance from WERF to help evaluate through an independent peer-review approach of their ongoing asset management programs. The city wanted to determine whether it was on the ‘right implementation path’ and what steps were needed to develop an asset management program roadmap. The city’s Water Services Division realized a need for a more organized asset register and a way to acquire additional data on their assets. Once they could understand what they had, they could undertake a program to manage their assets with the goal of achieving a better understanding of future rehabilitation and replacement schedules and long-term projected costs. This case study documents their approach to asset management emphasizing areas of best practices. Published by WERF. 20 pages. Online PDF. (2011)
