
Case Study Compilation on Applying Risk Management Principles and Innovative Technologies to Effectively Manage Deteriorating Infrastructure
Abstract
This project will develop case studies on applying risk management principles and innovative technologies to effectively manage deteriorating water system infrastructure. The research will provide utilities with an overall strategic risk assessment approach to maximize the value of investing in the array of available and effective condition assessment tools and full range of cost-effective renewal technologies.
The goal of the project is to gather the best available information and knowledge on risk management approaches for evaluating the need for renewal of deteriorating assets, condition assessment approaches for evaluating the need for asset renewal, innovative technologies for cost-effective renewal, and deterioration mechanisms of different assets with an eye towards extending the life of these assets.
