Abstract
The primary goal of this project was to evaluate strategies employed by biological nutrient removal facilities in response to adverse weather events (AWEs), and to present a compendium of those that were successful. The researchers worked with 12 water resource recovery facilities that experience AWEs to identify critical challenges they face when attempting to maintain optimal BNR performance during these weather events. The research also evaluates strategies that are currently implemented by BNR facilities for mitigating these impacts. Published by WERF. 190 pages. Online PDF. (2015)
