This synthesis report details WRF's comprehensive body of research exploring both indirect potable reuse, where treated wastewater passes through an environmental buffer before rejoining the drinking water supply, as well as the shift toward direct potable reuse, where purified wastewater is introduced into a drinking water treatment facility or directly into the water distribution system.
