Assessing Water Demand Patterns to Improve Sizing of Water Meters and Service Lines
This pilot-scale research study seeks to improve understanding of peak and off-peak water demand patterns of typical urban water customers (excluding single-family) to more accurately and economically size water service lines and water meters.
Principal Investigator, Peter Mayer, who lives in Colorado, is working directly with Denver Water and the City of Westminster. Co-Principal Investigator, Steve Davis, who lives in Arizona, is working directly with the City of Scottsdale. Dr. Buchberger has selected an outstanding graduate student, Chris Douglas, to work with him and the team on this project through the conclusion in 2018. Chris intends to develop his Master’s Thesis based on this research.
