Abstract

This report is a resource document for wastewater treatment plant personnel, regarding issues related to occupational exposure to microbial pathogens. It includes an overview of the microbiology of pathogens that may be present in a wastewater collection and treatment system, their potential health effects, and steps that can be taken to minimize their impact. It is hoped that this booklet will be used as a resource manual for wastewater treatment plant personnel, regarding issues related to occupational exposure to microbial pathogens and worker safety.
