Verification of the Effect of pH on Microbial Inactivation Efficiency of Free Chlorine

Abstract

This project validated the ability of the chemical speciation model to represent the effect of pH on microbial inactivation with chlorine. The outcome of this project will benefit all water utilities that desire to receive credit for the inactivation of Giardia cysts with chlorine at pH values higher than 9.0. Research partner: East Bay Municipal Utility District. Published in 2019.
