Abstract

This research examined a novel method for use in secondary effluent, advanced treated water, and drinking water for the analysis of four N-nitrosamines in water that uses high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-photochemical reaction-chemiluminescence method – or HPLC-PR-CL. In the research, the method was tested and shown to be effective, meeting U.S. EPA criteria for accuracy and precision with analysis results consistent with established methods (based on split sampling). Orange County Water District, Fountain Valley, CA partnered with the developer to conduct this research.
