Abstract

The researchers evaluated the cyanide chemistry and aquatic toxicity data published over the last two decades and the potential influence of these data on cyanide criteria development and implementation. The goal was to use the methods developed by the U.S. EPA to derive AWQC as a format for evaluating the scientific basis for regulating cyanide discharges to fresh and marine receiving waters. The study also considers whether criteria are protective of benthic (sediment) organisms, threatened and endangered (T&E) species, and aquatic-dependent wildlife. Published by WERF. 122 pages.
