Risk Assessment

Research Impact

Reviewed the occurrence and assessed the risks of pharmaceutically active compounds (PhACs) and personal-care products (PCPs) in the water cycle. Organized a multi-stakeholder workshop in order to identify needs and opportunities for risk management: what the problem is, who owns the problem, and what should be done. Developed a priority list of pharmaceuticals to use in future research. Research partner: GWRC. Completed in 2006. The following two reports were developed from the project and workshop: "Pharmaceuticals and Personal Products in the Water Cycle: An International Review and Pharmaceuticals?" and "Personal Products in the Water Cycle: Report of the GWRC Research Strategy Workshop." These reports can be downloaded from Resource Links below.
