Abstract

Identifies key removal mechanisms and conditions for emerging organic pollutants in river bank filtration (RBF) systems. Assesses the performance and potential limitations of RBF systems regarding removal of emerging micropollutants, TOC, and nutrients (ammonia, nitrate, and phosphorus). Develops a guidance document for design and operation of RBF systems. Tailored Collaboration partner: City of Aurora (Colo.). Published in 2009.
