Guidelines for Utilities Wishing to Conduct Pilot Scale Demonstrations

This project examines the perceived and real complexities in conducting demonstration studies by featuring industry-relevant examples to elevate understanding of technologies, performance expectations, and pilot project implementation processes. Typical implementation steps and best practices involved in conducting demonstration projects are summarized based on case study examples. The goal was to improve understanding of the demonstration process for new technologies at water resource recovery facilities by analyzing the complexities, goals, and outcomes of several diverse case studies.
