Abstract

This project assessed water quality changes near Fairfax Water, Washington Aqueduct, and WSSC’s Potomac intakes by preserving varying degrees of existing forested lands. The research team conducted an initial assessment of the impact of water quality changes on treatment costs, and used the results to develop recommendations for source water protection activities. Tailored Collaboration Partners: DC Water, Fairfax Water, U.S. Endowment for Forestry. Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. Published in 2018.
