Abstract

Evaluates the effectiveness of a microsize, macroporous, strong base ion exchange resin that was developed specifically to remove dissolved organic carbon from drinking water, in removing natural organic matter from raw water with a wide range of DOC and alkalinity characteristics. Also examines the effectiveness of the MIEX® process to lower ozone demand, remove bromide, and remove sulfide as well as DOC. Presents process design and cost options. Tailored Collaboration partner: Southern Nevada Water Authority. Published in 2005.
