Abstract

Elucidates issues associated with gross alpha and uranium measurements in drinking water that can sometimes lead to false positive maximum contaminant level (MCL) violations of the Radionuclides Rule. Also provides guidance to utilities on how to avoid or overcome such procedural problems and, if necessary, respond to MCL violations. Research partner: USEPA. Published in 2010.
