Abstract

Characterizes DBP and DBP precursor occurrence in consecutive systems that acquire treated water from a larger-system wholesaler. Develops an understanding of the changes that occur in DBP levels after water is purchased as related to the disinfection practices used by both the wholesaler and consecutive system(s) as well as overall contact time in the distribution system. Provides suggestions regarding how to identify acceptable DBP level goals for consecutive system entry points, strategies for consecutive systems to reduce DBP concentrations, and recommendations for negotiations between consecutive systems and wholesalers.
