Research Impact

This project developed compliance strategies that can be applied by water utilities that would need to take corrective actions to meet new regulations to further control Cr(VI) levels in drinking water. The specific objectives were to (1) assess the performance of preferred Cr(VI) removal technologies under varying water quality conditions, (2) use the technology assessment results to develop a decision framework for compliance with future low level Cr(VI) MCLs, and (3) develop technology implementation and operation costs for compliance with future low level Cr(VI) MCLs.
