Development of a Community-Based Lead Risk and Mitigation Model
Abstract
This project will further the science of lead (Pb) exposure risk assessment and mitigation, and translate this into practices that limit Pb exposure for drinking water consumers. A risk-based computational model will be developed, built on an enhanced and comprehensive national dataset. In addition, this project will identify opportunities to mitigate Pb exposure in drinking water, advance the understanding of water lead levels and blood lead levels, and create a communication framework to educate stakeholders on risk mitigation opportunities. These work products will help identify at-risk locations and provide guidance for communities and residents to reduce exposure to Pb through specific interventions.
