Describes reasons for and extent of water quality deterioration in water distribution systems with different sources and qualities of water. Suggests ways to minimize adverse quality changes, based on examination of corrosion rates and by-products, heavy metals, dissolved gases, and microbiological parameters. Published in 1987.
