Combined Heat and Power System Evaluation Tool Instruction Manual
Abstract
The Combined Heat and Power System Evaluation Tool (CHP-SET) is a spreadsheet tool intended to aid POTWs with tracking the electrical output, electrical and thermal efficiencies, and emissions of prime movers that are used as part of a combined heat and power (CHP) system. The CHP-SET calculates total system efficiencies (inclusive of appurtenant equipment electrical demands) for the production of electricity and collection of heat. This manual provides instructions on how to use CHP-SET and includes a case study of the Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant to illustrate the use of the tool.
