Characterizing, Categorizing, and Communicating Next-Generation Nutrient Removal Processes for Resource Efficiency
Abstract
The objectives of this project were to: (1) review next-generation nitrogen and phosphorus removal technologies to describe nutrient management technology options, (2) characterize nutrient management technologies by common metrics, (3) categorize nutrient management technologies into discrete groups, and (4) prioritize remaining research questions to define a path toward resource-efficient nutrient management. Academics and practitioners can use these project results to inform future research and science-based technology selection. In addition to the project report, Appendix E: Completed Data Collection Sheets is provided below, and includes detailed information on all 154 technologies reviewed in this project.
