Abstract

This project developed a new approach to help public water utilities account for green infrastructure. The project developed two suggested frameworks to help water utilities assess and account for the ecosystem services provided by green infrastructure and pilot tested them at three participating public water utilities to assess the benefits and feasibility of implementing national-scale accounting methods for green infrastructure. This report describes implications for widespread implementation of those frameworks and explores future research needs for changes in green infrastructure accounting practices.
