Abstract

This project developed a new approach to help public water utilities account for green infrastructure by defining registers or frameworks for identifying these assets. The project developed two potential accounting frameworks to help water utilities assess and account for the ecosystem services provided by green infrastructure and pilot tested them at three participating public water utilities to assess the benefits and feasibility of implementing national-scale accounting methods for green infrastructure. This report describes the utility experiences and explores the themes that emerged from utility responses to the pilot test. Published by WERF. 76 pages. Online PDF. (2014)
