Research Impact
This project generated a collection of target and non-target coliform organisms for use as a standard in assessing the analytical performance of TCR methods, including those that are currently approved and those submitted for approval in the future. Organisms include both coliform and non-coliform strains of bacteria commonly found in drinking water, and these organisms were identified genetically and biochemically. This project complements project #4300, Developing a Genetic-Based Approach that Complements Enzyme-Based Coliform Methods, which developed a comprehensive database that details the genotypic traits of coliforms and non-coliforms.
