Vital Dye Staining of Giardia and Cryptosporidium

Abstract

Reports on a vital stain for Giardia cysts and Cryptosporidium oocysts that can be incorporated into the immunofluorescence assay (IFA) for drinking water. Covers sources of error and interferences and their impact on the IFA. Also describes tests of the vital stain in several natural waters and its ruggedness in different laboratories. Published in 1997.
