Abstract

The WEF/WRF Leaders Innovation Forum for Technology (LIFT) created a university-utility partnerships program to communicate best practices, challenges, and successes of university-utility collaboration to advance water research and innovation. LIFT, in collaboration with the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP), WEF Research and Innovation Committee, International Water Association (IWA) USA National Committee (USANC) and IWA Canadian National Committee, and a research team working on an NSF GOALI grant, is working to develop tools and resources to support this partnerships program. A one-day workshop held in June 2017 showcased university-utility partnerships. This document, resulting from the workshop and follow-up discussions and activities, highlights nine case studies of university-utility collaborations. Information on conducting university-utility collaborations, sample contract language, and master agreement templates are included. 68 pages. Online PDF. (2018)
