Towards the Development of Biosensors for the Analysis of MIB and Geosmin

Abstract

Expands understanding of the microorganisms that degrade both compounds and of the degradation process. Identifies the genes that are activated in the process. Investigates the feasibility of developing MIB/geosmin-responsive biosensors and techniques capable of monitoring the presence of MIB and geosmin degraders in filter media. The final report is available only to Foundation subscribers as a downloadable electronic file. Published in 2008.
