Abstract

Performance data generated through this research project were used in a quantitative microbial risk assessment to demonstrate that a full-scale direct potable reuse (DPR) treatment train could reliably meet performance goals and produce a water that provides public health protection equivalent to, or greater than, conventional drinking water supplies. This report presents the results of the reliability analysis and challenge tests, and shows how a combination of redundancy, robustness, and resilience can ensure DPR safety.
