Abstract

There are several different technologies that water and wastewater agencies can invest in to support their ambitions to generate renewable energy, reduce their carbon footprint and benefit customers by limiting exposure to increasing energy prices. The aim of this project is to assist agencies in identifying and implementing renewable energy schemes through the development of a comprehensive compendium of schemes and a techno-financial model. Several water/wastewater agencies attended an initial data collection workshop, where the aims of the project were presented, highlighting the critical role that case study information would play in achieving the aims and set out the process for the data collection via a questionnaire. An online survey tool was developed from the questionnaire in order to digitally collate survey responses from the targeted participants. The online survey tool was developed using an online survey software package. Published in 2015. Research Partner: UKWIR.
