Abstract

This research characterized the composition of modern single residential source onsite raw wastewater and primary treated effluent (i.e., septic tank effluent, STE) to aid in the design and management of onsite wastewater systems. Phase 1, a literature review and can be found in Lowe et al., 2007 and at (www.ndwrcdp.org/publications). Based on the literature review findings, Phase 2 characterized the composition of residential single source raw wastewaters and STE within three regions of the U.S. This report describes the approach and findings of that research.
