Guidance on Complying with Stage 2 D/DBP Regulation
Abstract
This project developed a guidance document to help drinking water utilities achieve compliance with the Stage 2 Disinfectant/Disinfection Byproduct Rule. The researchers conducted a comprehensive review of available knowledge on DBP control, focusing mainly on TTHMs and HAA5. They also identified DBP minimization strategies along with estimated costs and other decision criteria relevant to utilities. Published in 2013. The final deliverables include the guidance manual and a Web-based decision support tool, called the Stage 2 D/DBP Calculator. This tool, available under Project Resources/Web Tools, will help utilities work through the decision process and provide them with specific options based on their system characteristics.
