Abstract

Phase 1 of the project (Project #3177) developed quantitative real-time PCR assays to detect Group F adenoviruses in water. Phase 2 of the project (Project #3181) focused on the occurrence of adenovirus in source waters, and developed treatment protocols for effective inactivation of adenoviruses by various combinations of UV, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, chloramine, and ozone. Phase 2 was published in 2012.
