Abstract

This study identified the data collection and information management needs for water utilities, including both short and long-term information requirements of managers and planners, as well as the needs of other local, regional, state, and federal agencies that depend on collection and analysis of municipal water demand data. The purpose of this study was to explore and differentiate among (1) what information a water utility typically has and why it has this information, (2) what information a water utility wants or needs that it does not have, and (3) what information a water utility has or had but must persistently collect, store, and manipulate to fits the needs of analyses. Tailored Collaboration partners: Southern Nevada Water Authority, Regional Municipality of York Water Supply, San Diego County Water Authority, and Tampa Bay Water. Published in 2016.
