Determines the frequency with which new membrane materials must be rinsed or cleaned as compared to commercially available membranes. Examines flux decline, natural organic matter (NOM) rejection, characterization of the extent and type of fouling (NOM versus microbial), and effectiveness of cleaning. Published in 2001.
