Press Release

Denver, CO [12/11/25] - The Water Research Foundation (WRF) is pleased to announce the funding of thirteen new projects under the 2025 Tailored Collaboration (TC) Program, totaling nearly $6 million in research value. The projects will focus on various high-priority One Water research topics, including corrosion control, artificial intelligence, reuse, and more.

The Tailored Collaboration Program supports regional or utility-specific research concepts by providing up to $150,000 in matching funds to WRF subscribing utilities. It allows subscribing utilities to leverage their internal research funding by sponsoring or participating in proposals on topics that not only address their research needs but also have the potential for broader applicability across the water sector.

For selected projects, WRF will match subscriber funding on a 1:1 basis, up to $150,000. The proposals selected for 2025 funding are listed below.

WRF is accepting Project Advisory Committee (PAC) applications for each of these projects through December 31, 2025. To apply, log in to your My Portal account and complete a PAC Volunteer Application under My Volunteer Hub. If you have previously completed an application, go to Volunteer Profile under My Volunteer Hub and click Apply for Project to select the specific project of interest to you.

If you have questions about the Tailored Collaboration Program, please contact Mary Smith, Director of Research Services, at msmith@waterrf.org or 303.347.6134.
