Abstract
This project evaluated the presence of THMs and HAAs in sodium hypochlorite feedstock solutions used for drinking water disinfection. The researchers conducted a literature review, surveyed water utilities, and evaluated water samples, in order to identify the carbon sources for HAAs and THMs production. The study explored preliminary mitigation options by conducting microscale contamination and contamination prevention studies. Research partner: AWWA. Published in 2013.
