Abstract

Describes a comprehensive study on soil aquifer treatment (SAT) to develop correlations between soil characteristics, effluent types, infiltration rates, and SAT efficiencies. Evaluates treatment efficiencies and removal mechanisms for a variety of common soils and effluents in SAT pilot studies. Presents an optimal SAT design methodology and an operational optimization model for application to multi-basin SAT systems. Research partners: WERF, NWRI, and SROG. Published in 1998.
