Project 1303
Developing Ambient Water Quality Criteria for Mercury: A Probabilistic Site-Specific Approach
Research Impact
This project developed ambient water quality criteria (AWQC) that incorporates factors controlling mercury’s bioavailability, methylation rates, and bioaccumulation in the aquatic environment. The researchers collected field data from 41 lakes and used a dataset of 51 other waterbodies to develop the model. Risk managers can use the resulting model to set up AWQC that incorporate as much site-specific information as possible. Published by WERF. 184 pages. Soft cover.
