Abstract
This research built upon current monitoring investigations to develop and apply new tools to track the growth and decline of natural cyanobacterial bloom populations in reservoirs in order to better understand the production of geosmin and MIB, the two primary causes of taste and odor in drinking water. The project used this understanding to develop molecular assays for the detection and monitoring of these contaminants. Published in 2013.
