Press Release

(Denver, CO) 05/15/25 – The Water Research Foundation (WRF) just funded 19 new research projects through its Research Priority Program totaling $4.9 million and is seeking volunteer project participants. This strategic research program enables WRF to address broadly relevant subscriber issues, challenges, and opportunities with targeted research.

WRF invites subscribing utilities and subject matter experts to contribute as participating utilities or Project Advisory Committee (PAC) members. Participating utilities can get involved by serving as test sites, supplying samples, completing surveys, lending equipment, or offering staff expertise.

Each project will also include a volunteer PAC responsible for providing technical oversight and ensuring the research is scientifically rigorous and valuable to the water sector.

The deadline to apply for PAC membership on these projects is June 13, 2025. More details on how to get involved are available on WRF’s website.

WRF expects to release Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for these projects, listed below, in late summer 2025. The projects, which span a broad range of One Water topics, were selected and approved by WRF’s Research Advisory Council. A full list of the projects and their goals can be found on WRF’s Advance Notice webpage.
